Delaying tactics by Welcome finance, help.

Hi all in March i read through some posts on here an decided to start a payment protection claim against welcome finance, as i took out two loans with them in 2004, a secured one for £15,000 and a personal one for £1,500.

Ive had nothing but hassell from them since day one, they sent me a letter denying the agreement numbers were theres, i then had to go detective and dispute the credit agreement details they registered on my credit file, they then sent me two orignial copies of the loan agreements which suprise suprise the agreement numbers matched.

My next issue was then trying to ring them for an update, put on hold to the 0845 number for 30minutes at a time, three months later after sending letter after letter i managed to get a response for the small loan and they agreed they had mis sold it and sent me a cheque for £909 :).

The week after i got a letter saying that the larger loan was sold by a broker and they are not responsible for mis selling it as they had been advised to by Norton Finance, i though this was odd as i dealed with them directly, no broker involved.

I contact Norton who investigated and confirmed what i told them, that i have never had a agreement with Norton and they have never acted as my broker!

So i am now stuck at what to do next, I have a letter from Norton confirming what i told Welcome.
Welcome have actually indirectly admitted that they mis sold the PPI on the grounds of the brokers advice the broker didnt exsist!

Welcome are now ignoring me, and arent returning my calls and wont reply to my letters, the last one i got was that i must contact Norton Finance as they are responsible, and that was last month can anyone advise me what to do as im starting to think of giving up as a bad job :(

Thanks for Reading

Dan

It is more than eight weeks since you complained and you have not received a satisfactory response so you can now go to FOS.

FOS can only investigate a 2004 sale if Welcome subscribed to the GISC Code of Practice but if it did not then you may instead be able to claim against the insurer.

Get the standard form from the FOS website, complete it and send it off with copies of your evidence.
