Where do I find a surveyor?

Options
Hi there

My mortgage company offers a free valuation and this is happening in the next day or two. When the results from that come back, I want to get a homebuyer's report done. Last time I bought, the mortgage company did this but where would I start to find an independent one and how much should I expect to pay?

Ask your solicitor, if local. They should know the reliable ones. £415 for a Homebuyers.

Would have been worth checking the difference in cost from your Lender's panel of surveyors, getting both done in 1 hit might have saved a couple of quid.

Yes, I thought I might get the lender to do but my mortgage broker suggested waiting to see if the valuation threw up anything obvious which I could then ask the second surveyor to focus on in a bit ore detail.

Unfortunately, my solicitor isn't that local.
