ASOS Grrrrrrrrr

Options
I placed an order with ASOS on 3rd September (a Sunday) and paid for next-day delivery because I was due to go on holiday the following Tuesday evening. The parcel did not arrive on Tuesday so I had to go away having not signed for it. I emailed ASOS before I went away to ask why they had failed to deliver it.

When I returned home I had received an email from ASOS to say that my parcel was delivered and signed for on 6th (while I was not at home) by someone with a different name. It has obviously been delivered to the wrong address / fraudulently signed for.

So, the result of this is that I have paid for a parcel that I have not received, and ASOS are ignoring my emails.

What should I do now? This is the third time I have ordered something from ASOS that has gone missing.

Did you pay by credit card? If so contact your cc provider and get them to look into it.

Contact ASOS and ask them to prove YOU signed for it - they can;t so they will have to send you more goods.

Also, are you giving them the right address? Is there another very similar address nearby? Maybe see why so many parcels go missing from ASOS.

I've always had very good service from them, but this sounds extremely annoying!

  • I used my debit card. It is odd, but I have checked my address details and they are correct. I have also ordered a lot of things that have turned up ok. The other items that went missing were not signed for - when investigated they were "lost in transit". Whereas this parcel was signed for by someone called "left" - sounds very odd.
  • I have just had an email to say the item is "lost in transit". They are going to give me a refund

I think ASOS should look at the courier company in my area. It seems very odd that the item always suddenly goes missing just before it reaches its destination.

I have had some shocking service from them also, finally found a phone number & my problems are nearly sorted but haven't really had an apology  They have had my money for months now after sending me the wrong item, very annoying.

  • Yummy Mummy - Even if you paid using a Debit Card, contact your card issuer and ask for them to 'dispute the item' - basically what they do is freeze the amount on your account and contact asos (ask for proof of postage etc etc). Process can take up to about 6 weeks but if your card issuer finds your dispute to be fair - they charge it back to ASOS, meaning that it is refunded to your card. I had a problem with Screen Select (DVD online rental service) and had the amount refunded back to me after trouble with them. After all, if you paid for the next day delivery I am assuming that covers some kind of insurance to the value of the item being posted....?

    Hope that helps !
