PC Freezing

Hope somebody can offer some good advice / help with my pc
It has taken to freezing up or rebooting at irregular intervals!
Sometimes after it has booted up I get a window that says windows has recovered from a serious error, the error log then suggests a driver is at fault?
Is there anything I can run to diagnose or fix this problem?
It is also running very slowly
Regards
Pete

To be honest I have not got a clue which driver. the window that pops up is quite comprehensive with alot of data on it....so dont really know what driver is at fault!
Wondered if there was a diagnostic tool that could be run to highlight any problems or conflicts with hardware / software?
Cheers

I had a faulty DIMM that caused that type of error.
You could also check that your system BIOS is up to date - check your motherboard manufacturer's website for details.
Edit - Your system manager (access via your Control Panel) will also report any hardware conflicts - though not hardware conflicting with software.0 -
As TMFTP says. You could try that.
Can you take a screenshot of it and post it here? The easiest way would be to hit the "Print Screen" key when the error message appears, open a Word document, right click the empty space and left click on "Paste". The screenshot should appear on the document.mercman wrote:the window that pops up is quite comprehensive with alot of data on it....0 -
