Car Auctions

Hi,
I am wanting to make some money during my summer holidays from college. So I might go to some car auctions and buy a car to sell on.
I have about £2k available to spend.
Is this a stupid idea?
Also which cars are best to buy? I was thinking something like a corsa.
Also what is the buyers fee at BCA?

better off buying private..buyers fees would be about £250 on a £1500 car..leaving very little if any margin....if your good with you diy skills i'd go ebay spares repairs..but thing is if your looking to try to get a good return in a short period of time you'v goto facter in the time it takes to get the log book back....better of doing something with no log book i . e quads boats caravans that way you can say you'v had it for years they'l never know....ck0

Plant and machinery dealing is good too but I can't teach you in a few sentences what it's taken me a lifetime to learn.
Best of luck with your venture but be prepared for a few disappointments.0 -
You'd be mad to do it if you didn't know anything about cars.
There was a thread just a couple of days ago about a guy who bought a duffer from an auction. Might be worth looking at it!0 -

HAHAHAHA HAHA HA HA HA .
Err, yes it is a stupid idea. For a start, you don't even know whats worth buying. Somehow I also expect your mechanical knowledge is something next to non-existent. So like many others, you're ripe for a wallet raping as you buy something that is cheap but then find out why non of the traders were bidding on it and you end up with a big garage bill or taking a massive hit punting it on.0 -
Ok cheers guys.
I guess I wont bother its too much of a risk.0
