Thank you Robbie I shall bear that in mind. Crikey I really am clueless about the way these things work...2016: No Clutter to Be Seen 805/2016

In case you are wondering, by being too flexible from the outset and setting yourself up for problems I meant that if you indicate from the outset you are prepared to relocate they may hold you to that from the start!0

yeah id think i good idea is to hold back slightly on what you are capable of regarding moving areas- looking for work outside of your local travel to work area. These then can be made options later if they want you to expand on your looking for work objectives. You can't beat an egg.........................NO WAIT!0 -
Such are the limitations of the software. At least that's how I remember it.He did not understand what my last job position was (OK fair enough it was an unusual job) and struggled to find 'boxes to tick' for any of the positions I am looking for.
There are only predetermined job roles to be selected. I doubt they had heard of your job role when they designed the software and updated it.0 -
Yes NASA thats what I presumed. And fair enough. Not one of my previous jobs had a relevant category.
I said I have been 10 years in the Fashion Industry at which point he clicked away with his mouse and started giving me Hairdressing vacancies. !!!!!!??? I wouldn't have a clue, might as well have offered me something as a Nuclear Physicist
I wouldn't expect him to be able to help me find me a job in my industry, those jobs never come up via the jobcentre. I just didn't realise that an Advisor could be so how can I put it...dense? Or possibly not dense but certainly completely disinterested.
I'm less upset than when I got home but quite a lot angrier.2016: No Clutter to Be Seen 805/2016

Just dispute the jsag, this will delay your money though.
Don't believe the jsag is a contract or anything of the sort either, just ensure you are doing everything necessary to offer you the best prospects of finding employment, no fewer than 3 steps per week and you'll be fine0 -
there is one like that at my local jobcentre. She is like the one from the TV series, Bread
All you get is "Fill that in" and a filthy look0 -
When I went they hadnt entered the minimum salary that I was prepared to accept and when I picked them up on it they said that it wasnt a requirement to note it. It was only after 12 weeks that I realised it was so I told them about the conversation that I had had with the advisor in the beginning and they changed it there and then despsite me having signed it so you might be able to make alterations.:smileyhea0

This is a serious matter and requires immediate action. At the least the official is incompetent and has behaved in a bullying and intimidatory manner. At worst, he is corrupt. When I turned the papers over to see what I was signing he kept turning them back over and saying 'NO you sign it HERE' and even covered up the page apart from the signature bit at the bottom.
Make an immediate formal complaint. Do it in writing (keep a copy) and send it Recorded Delivery to the centre manager."Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0 -
He printed a few sets of job details out for us, one of which my partner pointed out he had already applied for but he seemed not to hear us. The others were in locations that we had not a snowflakes chance in hell of actually being able to get to. I suppose he sees it as he's ticked his boxes so who cares. I care! I want a job!
Be very careful here and apply for all the jobs they have given you even if you can't get there or don't have a hope of getting.
Best advice here is setup a new email address just for this and never delete any application you send just in case it's brought up sometime later which does happen.
For any job print out you get given expect them to check up to see that you've applied.
Failure to apply (without good reason) will result is your benefit being suspended (sanctioned) and they're coming down hard on this atm. Well any infraction so you need to follow your JSAg and fill in the Job seekers forms religiously.
The JSAg can be changed at any time if you feel it's unfair or wrong. You can limit what jobs you can apply for usually in the 1st 13 weeks. Every 13 weeks it's reviewed and you will have to expand your search and type of job your looking for.
