I have downloaded and ran CPU-Z but I am still unsure if I would be able to upgrade my processor with the current motherboard.

The processor i have at the moment is AMD Athlon XP

How did that happen? Didn't it arrive with a Celeron Processor??

Motherboard supports the following processor upgrades:
    Core 2 Duo E7xxx (W-M)
    Core 2 Duo E4x00 (C)
    Pentium E2xxx series (C)
Celeron Dual Core E1xx0 series (C)
    Celeron 4xx series (C)
