Will Malawarebytes conflict with Avira?
I seem to remember you cannot run 2 antivirus softwares on the same pc.

Malwarebytes is not an anti virus so is ok .I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

So long as you use the free version of malwarebytes its fine:idea:0

When I did some research a year or so ago, Avira was regularly in the top three free antiviruses, based on heuristic detection (all AVs I looked at detected 100% of wild viruses in the tests). The percentage of lab viruses detected heuristically was only about one or two pertentage points higher in the top paid-for AVs.
If I remember rightly, the top free AVs were Avast, Avira and AVG (in that order), but Avira is much less memory-intensive than the other two and has the simplest interface, so it's the one I use on my PCs.0 -

I'm using the full blown activated version of malwarebytes and it's running fine along with my free version of Avira, are you suggesting different?
Probably because the paid for version has realtime scanning, this is the component that monitors your machine at all times for nasties.
Avira also has this, called AntiVir Guard, this can be turned off, worth checking.
It is these realtime scanners which cause the conflicts, and are the reason that 2 AVs should not generally be used together.
Also Avira a resource hog? :rotfl:
I'm with esuhl, use it and recommend it.Move along, nothing to see.0 -

Both are scanning files in 'realtime'. The free version only scans on demand.
With them both scanning in realtime they 'may' counteract one another in certain cases:idea:0 -
