Are these degrees any good, would the be admissable to then go and do a pgce?
I really want to sort out my degree and hoping I could do it over 3 years, Id even consider doing an american degree if needs be.
Im considering an IT degree and im on the reserve list for my local college, but hoping I could start my degree no matter what.
Any suggestions about these degrees

What do you mean by an online degree? There are reputable providers, such as OU (if you class that as online), but there are some dodgy ones too.Gone ... or have I?0

I can recommend the Open Universirty too. You can do a IT BA Hons and the course materials are excellantCompetitions wins 2010

Many (most) reputable universities in the UK also offer some degrees in 'distance learning' mode, generally with a lot of on-line teaching. I don't know about the quality of most of these courses, but the qualification is as good as a conventional degree. However, there are many other organisations that offer degrees, and such bodies are best avoided.0

Hi
Thanks for your responses, I guess the criteria Im looking for is to be able to do the course over 3 years. I agree the open university is excellent but takes 5 years.
I want to stay waaay clear of the dodgy ones0 -

You can do the OU degree in 3 years but it will still only count as part time so you wouldn't get full time funding.
If you want to do a degree in 3 years, why not just go to a bricks and mortar university?0 -
A colleague of mine did her IT DEgree via the OU over 3yrs, you just need to be prepared to put the hours in.
I did mine in 2yrs (at a local FE college), as I had accreditation for prior learning and skipped the 1st year. I then completed the PGCE part-time over 2yrs.0 -
Hi
Yep Im trying the brick and mortars but still waiting to hear from the local place as Im on the waiting list. Will speak to the OU about doing it over 3 years then as well.
