A very good reason for seeing the credit file is that the DCA (debt collection agency) might have bumped up the debt. They have no right to do this, but they try it on anyway, it catches the unwary. The credit file could easily be showing a lesser figure than the £3676.66 the DCA have told you you owe. If that's the case then there are things you can do about it, so do make a note of what the files said. If you're sending off for statutory copies of the files expect receiving them to take 10 days to 2 weeks from the day you posted the application forms.
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)

As of the last count I have cleared
    [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt. :(
  • I have dealt with these Clowns before, they are Scaremongering with their Yellow card, they didn't even post it personally, its delivered via the Postman but made to look like they were at your door.

Don't believe anything they say or accept any terms from them, they are bully boys.

    Don't give them a penny!!

The above posts have already gave you good advice.
Beneficial Claims / We Fight Any Claim / Money Worries / Yes Loans are all the same Scam company.
Do not do business with any of them!!

The one I have here has definitely got a Company stamp on it, it might look like a Bar code to you maybe ?

  • Ok, I have sat down and had a go at doing my Statement of Affairs (just done a paper copy to start with as I didn't get the chance to go through all of my paperwork to get all my APR rates and so forth).

    Here goes:

    Rent - £350.00
Household bills - £100.00 (includes council tax; TV license; TV, landline and broadband; and electricity)
Savings - £150.00 (I often have to dip into this by the end of the month, so I don't have any savings of any significance, savings normally stand at around the £180.00 mark)
    Egg Credit Card - £50.00
    Lloyds Credit Card - £50.00
    Love Film - £16.00
Mobile phone bill - £35.00 (contract is due to expire and I will be looking around for a better deal then)
    Contact Lenses - £14.00
Debt to family member - £50.00
    Catalogue - £30.00
    Food etc - £100.00
    Travel - £40.00

My monthly income is £1,100, and all of the above totals £985. Which leaves a monthly disposable income of around £115 per month.

Any advice would be gratefully received.
