I have up to £500 to spend. Any advice would be appreciated. I dont really know where to start looking.
Nice to save.

I'm afraid I don't know if any of the sub £500 models would be suitable for playing your games.

  • I have looked at the link and am not really any wiser.

What I probably need to know is what amount of memory and what kind of graphics card to look out for. Any ideas

I would have a look at www.notebookreview.com forums, they are very useful people there who will give you ideas on what you can purchase.

Most laptops are not good for playing games.

Unfortunately, if the titles you mentioned will run on a sub £500 laptop, it won't be very well.

You would be looking at least 1Gb of RAM. For the Video card, you need a dedicated not integrated card. You would be looking at something like at least Nvidia's GeForce Go 6200/6400 or ATI Mobility Radeon X600 which are the lowest spec you can probably get away with. Even these are still going to cost you the best part of a grand. Ideally you should look at ATI Mobility Radeon X1600/X1800 or nVidia GeForce Go 7600/7800/7900, these you would be looking at over a grand.
