I'm not after the 1p offer I'm not after something for nothing. We are halfboard at the minute now to upgrade to AI would £2500 but when they offered it me at £177 plus the £705 compensation I of course snatched their hand off and instantly paid the difference I was handed the receipt and invoice but then told there was a mistake0

It seems to me that the travel agent has booked a wedding party without having a clue what to do or handle it
The AI upgrade should of been offered at time of booking so you could argue this case out with them, I dont know if they are obliged to honour it though, especially not to the full party
You will be given the £705 for the wedding mix up but they aint gonna waiver the AI upgrade completely
I would of thought 177 for the full party seemed a little amount to be honest

I am confused - why have you emailed this letter - you booked through a shop? They need to sort - go back & ask for manager.
If I was you, I would re-write - taking all emotion out -
 1. Tell them the issues - (a) the lack of wedding pack & date & (b) the 1 pence upgrade to all inclusive.
 2. Tell them what you want - (a) compensation (mention the amount that was promised) (b) upgrade for all party for 1p.
 3. Tell them when you want a response by
 Don't get angry / don't get emotional.

If I read it right he wasn't going to get a cash refund and the upgrade for £177, the AI upgrade would be the £705 refund + £177 = £882 so a third of the full upgrade cost.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

            Hi
He says that they offered a refund from the weddings dept for £705 pounds????????
At the time of booking was the upgrade of 1p to AI actually on at that time?
I do know that a few months back Thomson had a promo running offering free upgrades of 1p but not as long as 10 months ago mind when you originally bookedI am a Travel Agent

To clear a few things up here. I initially went down to first choice to upgrade to AI paying for me and my partner the full cost of £250 each it was then I was offered these offers I didn't ask for them. So like any person I took what was being offered paid for it and then after paying £177 plus the £705 compensation was told I couldn't have it. I was wondering under my consumer rights am I entitled to the offers which were verbally agreed. I have spoken with the manager at the store she was helpful in person but I am now hitting a wall of silence. Also I was told at the time of booking this would be the best deal possible which has turned out to be a complete lie0

Sorry but I didnt get to the end of your letter it is just to hard to read. If I didnt my guess is the person receiving it wont either
I would send another letter if you get nowhere in the shop but stick to facts and what you want them to do0

I should imagine that you were offered the best price available at the time of booking but this does not mean that later on the company aren't well within their rights to offer better discounts/cheap upgrades as an inducement for people to book.
I don't really understand the point about it being short notice and people not being able to afford to travel - surely they knew of your plans when you originally booked last year?0

That's good - I think they should have given you the £705 too, but if you've got £2500 worth of all inclusive deals for the full wedding party, then it's a result all the same.
I hope you have a great wedding and that everything goes smoothly and that you have a lovely holiday."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0
