You don't say where you are but it could be that at some time they have dried out. Here in the south we have not had rain for some months.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I only know of two things that make conifers go brown and die, cat's wee and high winds. Are they in a very dry spot? - that is something else that would make them perish.
We have an expensive conifer and I discovered that they like lots of water. After we started giving them bowlsful they started to get green around the bottom third where it always used to be brown. Wish I knew it's name.0 -
Problem with conifers is that it can be dead a month or two before it actually shows as brown leaves etc.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I have often seen a line of leylandii with 1 dead one in it, always in the middle of course. Sometimes they just die for no apparent reason.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
