Aaghh, anyone with section 75 knowledge - help please

Got married this year and we were due to go on a lovely honeymoon to Italy. However a volcano scuppered that plan. We'd paid for the hotel through a third party and they refunded 80% of the cost in voucher form, which was a relief as that was a lot of money to us.

So we had a UK honeymoon on the cheap and intended to use the voucher to go on honeymoon next year as our anniversary.

It would now appear that the people we purchased through and who we have a voucher with (1800hotels) are about to go under. Which makes our voucher pretty worthless.

We made the original purchase with a credit card. Had we bought vouchers in that original purchase we'd be covered, but any ideas what happens under these circumstances?

Dreading telling the wife if that money is gone.

Section 75 means your cc company are equally liable. Basically you have the same rights with them as you would have with the manufacturer.

You'd be better speaking to your bank to find out 100% if you're covered though :)

my daughter has just finished working in Orland for the last 12 months. Her and a few friends have hired a car from Dollar and driven to Miami for a few days. Unfortunately as they went to the car today the SatNav has been stolen - they had left it out of sight but it was in the car. Dollar have said it is valued 400-600 dollars. They are reporting it to the police right now. They only took basic insurance but did pay for the car hire on a credit card. Would section 75 cover them at all. Sorry this is a bit rushed but I am communicating by text to 4 extremely disappointed young people who don't have a lot of money. Many thanks

Why would a credit card be responsible for the negligance of your daughter and her friends?
The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
