BR annd depression
Comments

The last few years have been hell to be honest for one reason or another, im trying to look on BR as a new start, can only hope im doing the right thing, but the way things are I could be paying a pound a month to creditors for the next Goodness knows how many years if I dont do something about it.
The stress and worry of all the phone calls and letters is really getting me down I just need a new start.
I cant help having nightmares about people coming and taking away my stuff, but have been reassured by reading posts on here.
Thanks for your comments everyone0 -
Hiya,
I told them EVERYTHING, and I mean everything on my BR form and ended up not even having to have an interview? Mind you my form did look as thick as War & Peace by the time I'd finished,
!! My OR has been brilliant, they did require info from my Dr for which I had to sign a data protection thingy so they could access my medical records, but beyond that I couldn't have asked for a smoother process.
My advice is to tell them everything.
Take care0 -
I sympathise with your situation, I think you are in the right place to get some really valuable advice from people who have had first and experience of what you are going through.
If you are receiving medical care for your depression then I do think it is worth mentioning and would be taking in to account.
From someone who has just gone through it, I can remember the panic ,sinking feeling in my stomach from the thought of bankruptcy , it will be okay you will get through it and be better for it. I was treated very respectfully and although the time was a tense I cant fault the insolvency service in any way.I wish you all the best .:)0 -
Thank you all for your advice and comments, I dont like to blame the mess Im in on depression, but I know it has had a impact, I have put it all on my forms and I did worry that its a bit long but can only wait and see now. Just hope that Im doing the right thing and I dont make everything worse by going BR.0

i also suffer with depression and mentioned this on the forms it was never discussed by the OR or taking into consideration.
example "about to be made homeless" new this was comin but i could never get an answer while they were playing games with house prices at the detriment to my mental health. Its taken them nearly 2yrs . I personally dont think they give a stuff as to your well being, i lost my job due to depression anxiety which ive never suffered from previously all bought on by debt and relentless pressure from the banks while they chased "the can get blood out of a stone equation":D
i do hope you are doing ok "hardup" and hope things pick up for you in the near future.0 -

Evening Hardup - hope you're hanging on in there.
You're being very fair and brave in not blaming the entire situation on your Depression. In my personal position, my Depression is just one piece (a BIG piece, but just one piece nonetheless) of the entire jigsaw of my debt problems. You sound like an honest, decent person, and I DO hope that life picks up for you very soon.
After I had finished my application process I felt absolutely wretched and sick to my stomach. Here is a link to the relevant page of Jasper's blog for MY Day of Days - which, on rooting it out, I found was co-incidentally ALSO 28 July - of 2007! Bit of a "Twilight Zone" moment I had just there!
(I don't post this in a flagrant act of publicity - just so that, if you want to, you can look back to the sort of states that Jasper and I were in just three years ago). http://jasper-thedogsblog.blogspot.com/2008/10/saturday-28-july-2007.html
I still maintain that, as hard as it was, the Insolvency route was the best thing I ever did.
It was certainly the beginning of the end of my troubles and, once the application tremors had subsided and the paperwork was all done, you have a definite, specific point in the foreseeable future where the light appears at the end of the bleak tunnel.
Please let us know how you get on. Jasper and I are really rooting for you HardUp. :T
You're doing the right thing.

Thanks Out of Cash:)
And good luck to you too sweetie. You're another brave one who sets a fantastic example to people unlucky enough to be facing what we went through ourselves.
I REALLY hope all ends well for you. x

many thanks ruthnjasper most appreciated,
just waiting for the final onslaught of the trustee to sell my house, naturally i will go to court to contest this as i will become a homeless statistic. The waiting game has caused me huge anxiety because of this. I obviously dont want to leave as i have been here for 14 yrs no mortgage arrears etc but i understand they have to have their equity "or whats going to be left of it after charges costs etc":D:beer: i will stay put upto the day before the baliffs come.0
