How can I cash this check

Hi All
Hope this is the right place to ask this question.

I used to have a small business but ill health caused me to finish temporaly untill my health improved which it is not likely to do now. Anyway my business account was with Santander, now because I had not used my account for a while Santander decided to close it and did so, then they sent me a cheque for the money in my account but it was addressed to my business name and as Santander had closed my account I cant submit it. How do i cash the cheque. :wall:

Open a new bank account in that name, pay in the cheque, transfer the money out, then close it.

Or ask Santander to cancel the check and issue a new one in your non-business name. Although you might have difficulty with that. bap's solution seems neater.

Or try one of those cheque cashing places see if they will cash it for you for a fee.

They'll cash anything! It'll cost you though. Usually about 10% I think.
