I know - that's the problem! Doesn't seem to matter that we'd been separated for 10 months!0

Unfortunately, they are correct in this instance, as you were legally married, and were on the birth cert, they can assume parentage and you would have to prove otherwise yourself.0
-
When the CSA first contacted you you would of been asked if you were the parent to the children, so you must of answered yes to both.
Not true.
I was asked no such question. I just got a phone call out of the blue saying I have an interim assessment and they wanted to know what address to send the MEF.Denny's Franchisee of the year (Best Restaurant) 1989-1991.0 -
That is because you were on the birth cert - they didn't need to ask as it was irrelevant to this case.0

I think you are right.
You seem well clued up on CSA. Do you have a website?Denny's Franchisee of the year (Best Restaurant) 1989-1991.0 -

If a child is born to a married couple, it is assumed that s/he is a child of the marriage and the husband will be named as father.
If a woman is not married, she can't put down a father's name unless the man is present and consents.
This ruling only changed in 2007. Before that you could put down a fathers name without him being there.BSC 289A life lived in fear is a life not living!Proud to have dealt with my debts.0 -
Me thinks only way forward for you is to self-fund a CSA approved DNA test - this opens a whole new can of worms, but suppose if you have doubts you need to clarify if the 2nd child is yours. But please prepare yourself and get advice regarding a CSA approved test, I believe there are a couple of firms who CSA like punters to use, and that they cost around £400-£500.
Sorry can't really suggest anything else at this point, until parenthood is clarified0 -

Surveys and clicks do not affect benefits or tax.
Also have a look at the £10 a day challenge threads on DFW for ideas.
And join www.freegle.co.uk or freecycle for household stuff and clothes.
I hesitate to suggest this but read here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&f=41
If you do decide to go for this, then please use the clicks and surveys thread to put together your first stakes, NOT your regular income, as you cannot afford to lose it. And read read and read again until you understand it fullyIf you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

I will assume you had finger trouble typing your reply, as what you have actually typed is BS!
Unless you mean the child is atest tube baby and the father never had to do any back breaking work all night long
