Hmmmmm...there is a chance this is a real Railway Regs PCN but we would need to see it to be sure as there are some fake ones used.

Do you mean the letter mentions Maggies Court (as opposed to other Court?). Can you post a pic of the letter, deleting or blanking out your ID details and the PCN Number?

I would say we'd need to look at the PCN as well but you've never had that have you, so we can only look at their letter.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I can't imagine its a genuine one. Would they not say, tough but its too late, see you in court?
They would not bother with threats as the law would take its course. Definite need to see letter, all we can do till then is speculate.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
  • The OP says the alleged ticket was issued in Dec 09, so if it is genuine it is too late for the Mags court.
Sounds like "PCN Debt Recovery and Prosecution Service" aka London & South Eastern Railway/Meteor Parking trying it on.
  • thanks for your reply. you sound like you know what you are talking about so i am going to ignore it.... wish me luck!!!!!!! :-)

    You'll be OK, doglover1, I am sure.

Now we just await a picture of Tim Corry's letter (although it does sound as if it's out of time if a genuine one, which seems unlikely anyway).

And that's why I asked if it mentioned magistrates. With railways, you have to double check.

Not sure how relevant this is.

This page www.nationalrail.co.uk/stations/ton/details.html says that the car park at Tonbridge station is run by Meteor Car Parking. The email address is for southeasternparking and their website says "Parking services by Meteor Parking Ltd for SouthEastern Railway".

The FAQs on southeastparking's website does mention Railway Bylaws, but it also says they will clamp vehciles with outstanding PCNs against them (which isn't exactly legal)!

No if's or but's it is completely ILLEGAL for them to clamp for unpaid ahem "tickets", any clamp put on a car for non payment of ahem "tickets" can and should be cut off self help case then if ever there was one.
