Yesterday, I dropped my laptop (Samsung NP-R519) on the floor and the charger bent to one side, and now when i try to plug it in it won't charge. I tried plugging it in again but when I took out the charger, something flew out of the adapter socket. I don't know if it was part of the charger or the part where you plug it in? In the charger there is a prong but in the laptop there are two prongs, is it supposed to be round? Can anyone help?
Thanks
Thanks

you're testing you signature theory right? :P
sonds like something fell out of the charger, tho i'm unfamiliar with samsung lappys.
I assume you saved the bit that pinged? tried putting it back?Friendly greeting!0 -
sounds like you have broken the pin in the middle of the laptop power socket
needs a dismantle of the laptop, not cheap repair unless you can do it yourselfEx forum ambassador

Yes, quite :rotfl:
We've yet to find the bit that flew out."Just do it - If you mess up, there's always someone who can put it right"0 -
I agree with Browntoa,
Laptop chargers themselves are usually fairly robust, it's normally case of the Power Socket Pin gets snapped away from the motherboard...
If you take it to places like PC world, they will charge you around £200 for a new motherboard, an independant repair specialist would charge around £50-100 to repair the laptop, they basically resolder the pins back on the motherboard for you
I'm not saying this IS the case, but it's the one I'm most likely guessing. I haven't seen the charger, but there should normally be 3 prongs IIRC for the power. Depending on earths and power packs.
EDIT - Image on this ebay link, what the power pack pins should be like...

If there's 2, it's power pack, if there's 3. My guess is most likely DC Pin behind laptop (or both even)Owner of andrewhope.co.uk, hate cars and love them

The laptop charger isn't broken. I think the actual part where you plug the charger in the laptop is broken, The charger is bent though."Just do it - If you mess up, there's always someone who can put it right"0 -
