Burglar Alarm - Scantronic

We have had a couple of quotes to have a wired home burglar alarm installed. One advised that he would install a Scantronic system. Does anyone have any experience with them? The model that would be used was not mentioned when the installer quoted.

I installed a scantronic system myself as a DIY project and have to say so far so good. Of course the only main bits you will see are the detectors, keypad(s) and sounders.

It was fairly straight forward to setup (plenty of options to change) to customise it and I think I can have up to 50 users. I got mine from a wholesalers and they posted the kit to me. Hardest part for me was threading the wires between ground and first floors and passing wires through walls into adjoining rooms.

If you can find out what the model was then you can google it for reviews.
    Regards, Robin.

Installed quite a few of the more top end ones like the 9800 etc and they have all proved to be very reliable, quite a lot of alarm companies use them as they are tried and tested.
