  • if anyone is in Kidderminster area there is a plant auction twice a week just down from the train station. No use thinking you can pop there on the train to go to auction as you will buy far too many plants to carry :rotfl:. Great prices if you are a bit savvy and bargains to be had. Obviously you will not be able to get a set list of plants, just what they have on the day. Never failed me yet. Hope this helps
  • also in kiddie area, just on Bewdley bypass is a small garden centre run by a childrens charity. Always worth a purchase.

I think the thing is like you said Liam8282 is that the smaller places are harder to find, but I suppose little gems once you know where they are - the council one sounds very interesting

Here is the information on the council nursery near me, not sure if they have anything similar in your area?

    http://www.leeds.gov.uk/page.aspx?pageidentifier=EF2DAFEC94AA641D80256E1B0038FF00

They sell more than is listed on the website, vegetable plants, compost etc. All cheaper than garden centres.

If you look at the map at the bottom, I have lived on Red Hall Approach for 6 years and only found out about this nursery in the past few months!

There is also a Strikes garden centre on Red Hall Lane just before the council nursery.

almost give away. National Trust properties also have a plant sale area.

Good luck with your gardening - it is a great hobby!

National trust make sure you take out a second mortgage if buying from them.
A good source for cheap plants if you have one localy is a horticulture college.

Yep, there's one called Hadlow College but too far unless you are getting loads of stuff, great idea though something some of us might have forgotten about
