Q. Will people still rent these expensive places if they dont get housing benefit?
A. Not unless the rent falls a long way.
the article did say the rise was due to more corporate lets and first time buyers who couldn't buy.If its over a grand a week now what will it be when housing ben is cut next April?
as far as i know corporate tenents aren't entitled to housing benefit. do you know otherwise?
these type of people don't sound like they're on HB...Increased competition has been prompted by the return of the corporate rental market and by increasing numbers of frustrated first-time buyers unable to afford mortgage deposits0 -

Loads of people who work in the centre of london would be happy to pay this amount, its better than travelling 40 or 50 miles a day into work and 50 miles back.
i wonder how many people on housing benefit actually live in these 1000 pound a week houses?
I find it mad that people who choose not to work can live in the same house that some one who is a higher tax earner would struggle to afford.0 -

I thought it was only the bears who started threads about "round my way".
it usually is, same as with bulls, but then again when there about 5 or 6 articles from major sources like the bbc, i dont think there really needs to be.
I go by whats happening by me and what the national press report, its no good people talking about the other end of the country where they dont live.0 -
