Port Valve buzzing

Dear All,
One of the 2-way port valves (Honeywell) on our heating system is buzzing, is it easy to replace the innards?
I see that Screwfix sells the internal part separately.
Also, would this fault cause the main oil burner to lockout?
Thanks,
John

Is it and ""electrical buz"" if so you need a new actuator (the silver box on the valve). Very easy to fit - but be safety carefull.
If it is within the water way then you need to take the valve out, after draining down the system, and inspect to find out what is wrong. As you are asking the question, it is not something you can do yourself, unless you do a lot of research and ensure you understand what you are undertaking.
Yes it the valve is closed, preventing water circulation to the boiler, then the boiler could lock out.

Check that the valve has a raised 'dimple' on the top of the silver box at one end. If it has you can change the head. If it doesn't you will need to replace the complete valve and head.
Make sure you isolate ALL power to the heating system as there is a permanent live going to the head via the grey wire.0 -
Yes, it is an electrical buzz. I shall check tonight for the dimple, if it does, can I get this from Screwfix:

I do not think the valve has failed closed whilst buzzing as the hot water cylinder has been receiving from the boiler. It seems to buzz when waiting to be called to service and quiet when working.
Many thanks

It could be just the motor, but I always replace the entire head. Chances are the microswitch will give up the ghost soon then you will have wasted money on the motor.0
