My old man was made redundancy last Friday, Just called in to the office and told his job was gone and that was it no notice job over
Been back in today to sort eveything out, been working for 9 years and is 54 now, so he has worked out a rough figure etc he is owed holidays etc
Was just told there is no money and he won't be getting any redundancy pay....can't believe thay have treated him like this.
....
So I need some help on what are the best steps to take next, who do I write too/speak to what forms need filling out, He is very stress and upset at the moment so I want to help as much as I can for him to get the process rolling
Thanks

Sorry to hear about the loss of job and the way it's been handled.
Is the employer still trading/solvent as, if they are, they will need to pay your husband any outstanding wages, his statutory or contractual notice whichever is the longer(nine weeks minumum based on his length of service) and outstanding holiday pay. Also he will be entitled to redundancy pay. Sorry I can't give you details about the figures he is entitled to but I can't remember the current figures off the top of my head and am just about to shoot out.
I'd suggest he asks his employer to confirm everything in writing and then contacts a solicitor (if you have legal cover under any insurance policies) or ACAS for advice.
Good luck0 -
He is my Dad not my husband but thanks for the info, gonna get the ball moving tomorrow.0

The calculator linked below will help you work out the redundancy payment he is owed:

Bl**dy hell, CowHead, that sounds AWFUL. Your poor hubby; I hope he's OK (and you too).
Can't offer any advice I'm afraid, but just wanted to offer my sympathies and very best wishes to you.
Good luck. x0
