Dry rot survey

Hi, We think we have just discovered dry rot in the floorboards underneath the bathroom. This makes sense as the house as before we bought it the roof and sink had been leaking for what must have been quite a while. (unfortunately we didn't get a full survey when we bought the house) We aren't sure if the dry rot has already been treated though. (repossesion so no details), it looks like somethink has been painted over it. Sorry giving way too much info now. my question is how do i go about finding someone to diagnose the problem. Can anyone recommend anyone who is trustworthy in the cardiff area? Also does anyone know do i ask someone for a quote (would this then be free?) or do i get a survey (and pay for it? how much approx?)

Thanks, have been in touch with these but you go through to a national help line and have read on here it is better to go with a local company so have been reluctant to confirm an appointment with them. Have you used Timerwise bigyorkshireman?

For anyon who looks up this post cause they have the same problem as me. Timberwise came around last week. i paid £50 for a survey and found them very professional.
