Advice needed with faulty Toywatch

I hope this is the correct section to put this post but am looking for some advice with regards to a 'Toywatch' I bought my daughter for Christmas. I bought it in Selfridges at the Trafford Centre but a few weeks ago the stopwatch wouldn't reset. We were going to London towards the end of June so I took it with me to have it repaired. I took it to Selfridges on Oxford Street and the girl took all my details and said it would be about 2 weeks for repair and they would post t back to me. Last week I realised that the watch hadn't been returned but thought I would give them a few more days. Today I received a message on my answerphone asking me to phone them with regards to the watch. I phoned straight back and was asked what the problem was with the watch and where I bought it from (even though they had all this information)! I was then told that there was nothing wrong with the watch as the stopwatch wasn't supposed to work! When I asked why if the stopwatch was on the watch I was told it was a 'Toywatch' and they are just for decoration! I had a few words with them and was then told that I shouldn't have returned it to them in the first place and they wouldn't be sending it away for repair. They have had the watch for over 4 weeks before deciding this, but also how can they sell a £165 watch that isn't supposed to work? I am sorry for the lond rant but needed to try and explain everything. Does anyone have any advice they could give me please?

Please post the model number and an image if possible ? Some of them have non-working chronos but I suspect they are wrong in the shop.0

Hi thanks for the quick reply. Not sure if this will work but I have found the watch here
http://www.oaksonline.co.uk/ToyWatch/Fluo/Toywatch-Purple-Chrono-Fluo---FL22AM
It clearly states it as being a Chronograph watch.0 -
If it states it has something in the description which the product does not have then contact them again and tell them this. Make sure you take a screen shot of the page incase they change the description.... :A0

That definitely should be a working chronograph. The 'Toy Watch' brand is about the looks not a lack of functionality, they are talking out of their backsides. I would go up to the manager of the store.0

Thanks for your replies, I was so annoyed last night, sorry for the rant. Today I have contacted Customer Relations and they are looking into my complaint and will get back to me tomorrow so I will let you know how I get on.0
