what would you do ?

i have a collectable item on ebay... before i listed it i looked through to have alook at similar items to see what the bidding is like on them.. anyway the 2 similar items have loads of bids but they either have 0 feedback or very low....feedback count

so in my listing i have stated that if they had less than 10 positive feedback to email me first... just to check that they are genuine...i have now had a bid from a newbie with 0 feedback and no email before hand... am i being paranoid....?...this person has been registered for 6 months.. the others which had 0 feedback that was bidding on the other similar items have ben registered for 18 months etc...

i have send this person a email.. saying that i was asking people to email me first... so would you cancel out their bid ?
or just see what happens..? as over the last few months i have had a load of newbie non payers....

  • Hi,

I'd just leave the bid and see what happens, you could always email the next highest bidder for a second chance offer if you find the newbie wins and doesn't pay up.

But saying that I've been very fortunate with my ebayers (feedback of over 1200) and havent experienced any problems with newbies.

Sorry to hear that you've had problems with payments :(
  • thanks sally savings.... i prob.. just paranoid now.....as i went through a run of non-payers and newbies with attitude....as its not there the day after auction finishes etc...i even had one newbie.. refusing to pay until they had the goods..

will sit tight and see how it goes.....

I've had a run of 0 feedbacks on my items just lately. I let them be as they usually turn out OK. Remember we were all on 0 once and we all turned out ok.
