Just bought a passat saloon and the PDC does not work, plugged my VAG COM in and it has returned a park assist warning chime short circuit fault.
can anyone tell me where the sounder unit lives so i can get to it and check wiring etc before buying new sounder?

Yes it was a 5 speed box,got a good deal on it aswell.glad to be rid of the Renault the passat feels a better built car, although a !!!!!! to change cambelt much swearing was done yesterday afternoon I can tell you.
Anyway back on topic anyone know location of the park assist sounder on said passat?0 -
I'd say its bolted under the parcel shelf or in one of the C pillars?0

right had a look under parcel shelf and behind c pillar trims cannot find the little !!!!!! anywhere, only thing under shelf is high level brake light only thing behind c pillars is curtain air bags.
I have ordered the part from VW for a very reasonable £10 but just need to find out where it lives.
anyone else able to offer some advice?0 -
To be honest, the sounder units dont normally fail. It's normally one of the sensors.0

right you were correct it is under parcel shelf i just missed it as was looking through small gap rather than removing completely, plus it sits on a piece of plastic clipped to the body just by boot light, need to get head right in boot to see it.
found it had been unplugged so plugged back in and surprise surprise it has a faulty sensor that was being hidden by unplugging sounder.
now i need to get new sensor for rear right position.0
