If the scales are currently ''jammed'' then take out the battery and then re-insert. This should clear any problem with the read out.
I have the same scales. You press once to turn on, then lift the bag and hold until you hear a beep. They sometimes don't work exactly as planned. in which case turn off then start again. The weight will vary slightly per ''lift'' but should be very close each time. Try to lift the bag in the middle at it's balance point.
When it comes up with 0.3 on the read out just press the button once or twice to clear, then lift the bag.
When you have finished with the scales make sure you replace the plastic strip that isolates the battery or remove the battery altogether. It would be easy to leave the scales accidentally switched on (flat battery).0
