  • You never know, they might be secretly relieved themselves!

Know what you mean about the kids though - my sister cheats with my niece and nephew and thats allowed!
  • Mascaraminx I wasn't belittling the idea at all. I feel you took a little offence from my post. I think it's a great idea and it also stops us from buying in to the hyped commercial side of Christmas.

I've also just started e-baying, so I know there are bargains out there for £10or less. And it's the excitement of it all....

In fact my Mum suggests this every year (spending a small amount on each other) but we all need to be in on it. It never works coz my Aunts tend to buy their pressies in july!

I struggle at Christmas and spend roughly £300. If we did what you do then I could get it down to about £100.

I'd love to do this, and we've been trying to do this for the last couple of years, but no one seems to adhere to it, and I'm left feeling like a skanky moo (albeit a skanky moo with lots of nice prezzies).

Will no doubt try again this year though cos I can't afford to do anything else. Actually, will prolly just tell folks to buy for the kids and not worry about us at all.

I adore Xmas too and don't find that this takes away from the event at all. I like the fact that my family all think carefully about what to buy (because no-one wants to seem like a skanky-moo they do their best to get the best pressie they can for £10!). simple and great for DFW's
