Do both what? Going through claims quickly without looking through them properly = more time and money wasted on appeals and reconsiderations.

More haste less speed?
I trust your neighbour submitted reports from their GP and consultant in support of their claim?Gone ... or have I?0 -
i put a claim in 2nd july and sent loads of reports for my son it will be 6 weeks fri, they say it could take up to 20 weeks or more0

I sent a claim in on the 29th July 2010, and got a call from the dept a week later, the lady said she was dealing with my claim, and wanted to know a bit more details, which we discussed on the telephone. She said due to the copies of letters I'd sent in with the form, she would not need to contact the Hospital doctor who my daughter is under, as I had provided her with enough information, but just was going to write to our GP. She said to expect this part to take up to 3 weeks.
I did explain to her we havent always been able to see the same GP at our surgrey, so good only knows who the receptionist will pass this on to... and that our daughter has to go back to the doctors every couple of weeks, in last month we havent been able to see the doctor who has been seeing her, and have had to see 2 different doctors. Though all the notes of her illness, syptoms and the hopsital letters are all in the system, I just wonder which doctor will actually reply to the report.0 -
the dla make up their on rules, said to me i have to wait upto 12 weeks before i can call and ask whats going on as they go by strict date order but strangely enough my brothers dla form was done within 6 weeks aswell as getting backdate and he's was sent 4 weeks after my daughters.0

It is not like what you say, claims are processed in date order. It is likely that either the medical reports were returned more quickly in the other claim, or they required less information. A well prepared claim will inevitably take less time than one that is lacking in information.Gone ... or have I?0
