space blanket loft insulation at subsidised prices (by eon)

There have been various offers for this in the past but most seem to have ended. Is anyone aware of any current offers for this stuff; i'm lokking for the 100mm variety rather tham the more usual 150mm type.
I intend to use it for underfloor insulation (suspended timber floor) - it seems very suitable for this. I tried phoning eon but to no avail! - do they not know who they are giving "free" money to? Anyone got any suggestions where spaceblanket can be bought at modest cost? btw i'm in coventry - cheers schober

Well, I've just bought insulation from Wickes subsidized by EON on a buy 1 get 2 free promotion. I didn't go for their spaceblanket, but I did get 3 x 7m roll of 170mm (I think it works out to 8 square metres) for £30. They have the same promotion on the 150mm spaceblanket too as well as their own brand 100mm.

Sorry your phone call to us about loft insulation was unproductive.

We are involved with a number of energy efficiency initiatives through our commitment to help reduce the carbon footprint of our customers.

These initiatives form part of the Carbon Emission Reduction Target (CERT). Through CERT, we have pledged to reduce CO2 emissions in domestic households by 2011.

To help achieve this target, we are involved in a number of schemes/promotions/projects to encourage domestic customers to take up energy efficiency and low carbon measures.

Sometimes the schemes are directly administered by us; whilst at other times, they involve third parties in the form of subsidies given to certain organisations to help promote a specific product.

As serverdog says, we are currently working with Wickes on a loft insulation promotion. We are also dealing with Homebase on a similar product.

However, our involvement with these products is mainly via providing subsidies to cover certain costs. Specific questions about design, price or availability need to be directed to the individual organisations offering the products.

Again, I'm sorry the agent you spoke with wasn't too clued up but these schemes tend to be looked after by specialist teams. General call centres/help lines are unlikely to know too much about the specific initiatives.

Well, I bought the last 3 rolls of150mm spaceblanket at wickes in cov for £14 total - the offer ends this weekend - 1st Aug . Annoyingly they dont stock 100mm space blanket (my joists are 100mm)

Already energy bills are loaded up by five separate charges to help fund the battle to combat climate change and become greener. They are the EU Emissions Trading Scheme, the Carbon Emissions Reduction Target, the Renewables Obligation, the Community Energy Saving Programme and shortly there will be a levy on investing in clean coal projects

What exactly is it you would like to see?

As a company, we are fully committed to helping people reduce their energy usage. As I said previously, to help achieve this we are involved, both directly and indirectly, with many different initiatives.

The website is just one way we let people know what we are directly involved with.

Also, what actual costs are you looking for?

Can't promise changes will be made but we are always looking to evolve the website and all feedback is important, both good and bad.
