Thinking outside the box- what unusual mse touches will your wedding have?

Hi Guys, I thought it might be nice to start this thread so that everyone could add at least one mse touch to their wedding that they think is unusual or not normally seen at a wedding to give other inspiration for their own days.

Mine is Activity Bags for kids. I have 15 kids coming between the ages of 0 and 11. I have been saving things i have got for free over the year and been lucky enough to receive through freecycle.
I have a large bag of mcdonalds toys, pencils, rubbers, stickers, plastic jewellery, party bag type stuff.
I am now on the lookout for material to make stockings for each child which i can then fill with all the things i've collected.

This should be free or as near as possible. I'm making stockings for a december wedding but for any other month just a normal bag could be used.

Everyone i've mentioned it too said how clever it was to use the macdonalds toys which would otherwise have just been thrown away, so I thought i'd let you guys know too!

Anyone got any ideas to add?

Not sutible for kids, but during the year ive been making sloe gin, sloe sherry, elderflower cordial and elderflower champagne for the adults to drink. Worked out pretty cheap and I like this kind of thing!

In fact ive made LOADS of stuff in true MSE stylke- invites, favour boxes, bouquets, veil, favours, pew ends, to name a few.....

I have made stockings for my activity packs as well if anyone can tell me how to upload a photo I will put one up, Ive also made activity colouring books to the theme of my wedding, with a bit of help from ebay for the front cover. lol

I found the summer sales brilliant for filling my stockings.

Ive also made a scavenger photo hunt for the older kids involving a disposable camera and a list of things for them to take photos of.

We are making all the invites, rsvp, information stuff ourselves.
We are having felt flowers which we are making and have worked out so cheap but gorgeous!
We are having embroided felt butterfly keyrings for favours which we are also making.
We are have a pick and mix type buffet in the evening and are collecting glass jars/bowls etc cheap over the next year only problem we are having with this is finding cheap scoops and tongs.
We bought OH suit last week in the M&S sale! £59 down from £150
We are making the centrepieces ourselves not 100% sure on the design yet but it will include more felt flowers!
We are going to buy giant outdoor games at the end of summer in the sales
Rather than a guestbook we are having a 'family tree' which I will paint with ink on canvas so people can use green ink pads to print their thumb on to it as leaves :)

I love our wedding :P It is so very childish and silly and so very us!

Rather than having a guest book, we're having postcards we've designed and printed for people to put on a padded notice board I'm making (like this: http://www.ribbon-designs.co.uk/page2.htm)

We're hoping we'll be able to put the messages in an album with our wedding photos then.

I'm doing this too! Have you tried painting ink on canvas - how well does it work as I've not tried ink before, and am wondering whether to use a different backing instead (like a thick art quality paper).
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.

we are making snowman soup cones and using a xmas decoration we are painting as our favours as well as out placenames.

we saw a template for childrens activity packs that were vespa inspired so we changed the vespa to a vw beetle to go in the childrens hampers which will be delivered by santa after the meal as our wedding is a week before xmas.

we got a load of jars which will light up the church, the paths and the gardens around our venue.

rather than a guest book we have bought a fujji instax camera and film and everyone will have one of those photos and write next to it.

we are making our invites out of 7" records which we got for under £3 in a record shop :)

Hello - well I wasnt going to bother with them, but a relative works in a floristry factory and got me loads of free boxes of those pull bows that they were going to chuck out. I have made them up and glued vintage buttons, brooches ect (cheap from carboots/ mates ect) to the centre and they look well cool.

It does work best if you prime it first gives a bit more to grip to. I will be using my winsor and newton ink (not very mse but they are beautiful and have such a lovely tone)
You can buy canvases cheap from quality save and similar places and it will work might just take a bit of practice first.
    Another option is painted chipboard.
