i have posted previously and everytime people have been kind and helpful, this is a long shot, breathe..here goes.....
in april i left my husband and moved into rented acc, as husband hadnt paid any mortgage for 12 months its all in his name, and he buried his debts in the sand, lied, was abusive etc etc...
went to court he was given 12 months discharge on repossession
found out last week that he hadnt paid it still  and had been evicted
however, he ignored the letters as per usual and changed the baliffs locks,
i only found out after all this happened as he went on his hols to spain
( you couldnt make it up )
me and the kids still have loads of our possessions there, the estate agents are goiing mental as they no longer have access, and have said basicaly if you have a key you better get your stuff out , its no longer our problem... but i NEED to get my personal bits out, kids stuff, baby photos etc, husband has key and says he will let me in to get the things out ..
is this illegal..?
how else can i get the things out ?
any advice, im going crazy here , thanks xxxxx

could you ask his brother if its OK for you to go in and get the rest of your stuff? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
his brother will give me a key, but as the locks were changed by the baliffs in the first place am i breaking the law by using the key to get back in ?
its confusing to type !!
ballifs changed the locks tuesday and put a notice up saying he was evicted
he changed locks again and ignored the notice and went on his hols !!!
its not his house now, but as my property is in it, and i have a key can i go back ??member of student money saving club

... I would go and get my stuff, as long as it isn't cookers, TVs, Hi Fi etc then I don't think you will have a problem, it's not guarded or anything. If you want to reclaim valuables then you may have an issue, it depends if they have completed an inventory yet to prove that it has been removed.
Alternatively I am sure you will not have a problem if you contact the repossession company asking for permission to pick up clothes and baby photos, they will not be able to sell them to recover costs after all.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Same here - I would just do it. It's stuff that belongs to you and your kids, not him, and if it was me, I would do anything I could to get it back. I would maybe keep a list of anything you take, just in case of any comeback???"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -
I've no idea about the legal position but if it was me I'd go and get anything personal like baby photos - surely someone would have to pay to get rid of it if it was thrown out.0
