Hsbc????

Hello,

Just want to vent some frustration and see if my experience is common.

I have banked with HSBC for about 20 years, and have a current account, a joint account with my partner, and another current account to manage my rental property through.

My artner and I are considering renovating / building property, but wanted to discuss financing issues with a branch. I popped into a branch and spoke to the branch manager explaining situation who told me he would get the business manager to call me later that day. after 3 days I got fed up so approached another branch who also told me someone would call me back. Anyway, on day 4 branch 1 calls back so I explained that I had spoken to another one as I was fed up waiting - manager told me branch manager had only given him the message a few hours earlier, and that he understood that I had got feb up waiting and hopped branch 2 would help.

Branch 2 got mortgage advisor to call me who agreed that he was not the right person (after having explained this in the branch) and once again he would get the business manager to call me. Business manager called 3 days later, but I missed the call - message left on mobile saying that he would try me again or I could speak to the mortgage advisor, but I couldnt call him back as they dont give out branch numbers!

Very frustrated and likley to move bank over this. Just to be clear I did also explain to both branches that I had 250K of security that I would offer against any lending.

Are HSBC really this bad or have I just been unlucky? Always found them pretty good in the past.
