Watch out for the £1.50 a month charge on BTs pay in advance line rental plan

Thinking of changing to BTs pay in advance line rental scheme. Be aware that if you only have the BT line ie you don't use BT for phone calls If you set up the "pay in advance" scheme you have to make at least 2 phone calls a month with BT otherwise they will charge you £1.50 a month extra. Not content with getting your cash in advance and the interest. Greedy !!!!!!s.

    1. The two calls requirement has long been the case with BT.

(as you are complaining, you obviously didn't read it all the way through - you didn't mention:

    2. You lose your e-billing discount
    3. The pay-in-advance offer appears to be for one year only

    - so for a short term gain you might end up with a long term loss !

So... BT are willing to offer customer's who take their calls with them this added incentive to pay their line rental up front. Selfish BT!

You direct your anger towards BT as if they are scamming you for choosing to take your calls to another provider. If you want the deal so badly move your calls to BT... If you feel you have a better deal then don't moan about deals you aren't going to be taking as you must clearly be on a better one.

This has always been the case even on the standard line rental, as i am with primus i set a reminder on my phone each month, to make a few calls through BT. - If you can't do it on phone, marke the calander, set it on your email!
