    afternoon all

    quiet here today :)

been busy catching up on housework and washing,

the sky man came this afternoon, he couldn't fit the shy dish cause nathans room door doesn't open proporly so hes coming back tomorrow, dh not impressed. he now has to move stuff in nathans bedroom so the bloke can get the satelite dish through there and get onto the roof.

need to pop out in a bit, go to post office and get some stuff for tea.

Morning all, I think I'm going to take a step back from debt busting as it's all getting a bit much and I need a summer break! After hours of deliberating OH and I have decided that we're clearing debts at speed and creating so much stress. So we're going to have a holiday and relax a bit more. Does this seem really reckless?!

Gemmzie, don't feel bad about treating youself to a holiday. Every now and again you need to step back from the dfw nerd and treat youself.

    LMC - hope you're ok x

Butti - I've always done my own tiling too - my dad told me never to use the spacers but to use the cardboard from the tile box ripped into bits...you don't get such big grout spaces then and it looks neater. As long as you've planned it out, got lots of plumb lines and levels drawn in you'll be fine.

When I brought my first house it needed gutting and Dad said when I got the kitchen plastered he'd come and show me how to fit the kitchen....I couldn't afford a plasterer so through trial and error I did it myself but had to do it over a few nights as DD's were 3 and 1 and kept waking up.

It's amazing what you can do when you have to.

  • Thanks everyone, I'm ok I think. He seems to think if he gets a job in Dubai I'm going to leave everything behind and go out there with no job and be a lady of leisure!

It sounds soo tempting for a nanosecond until he says he might have to leave me for 3 weeks at a time!

Not at all Gem, you are young your debt's arn;t incurring interest adn to be honest you need a break. You went from your debts - parents debts - your debts and you are no doubt worn out. Have a great summer, have a nice holiday and relax. The debt's will be here when you get back, sadly :rotfl:

Well work isn't good, the effects of last year is coming crashing down around me and I am not happy  Why change something that isn't broken, and now make it broken :( If only I had another job... Maybe I can run away somewhere :rotfl:

In typical everything biting me on the !!! fashion, we now can't go as OH has remembered that he didn't renew his passport. Can anything ever go right :(
