Mucky Monday 26th July Daily Chat - All Welcome!

Morning everyone! :hello:

I couldn't see a Daily Chat so decided to start one, hope I'm not duplicating! Well, it was totally yuck when I left the house - but now it's clearing up quite nicely!

Hope everyone has a good day - I am gonna try for an NSD if I can! There is still a case of man flu lurking in our house - hubby is off sick today (his first day off sick in 3 years!!) - so he really isn't feeling very well. I have left him with chicken soup and instructions to take his medicine!

Jo :)

Morning Jo and all who follow

Hope your DH feels better soon Jo.

Had a lovely evening at the open air film showing last night - was so warm and we could hear the sea, smell the lovely fresh air and see all the lights twinkling in France. The walk home via the harbour was lovely too - was just gone midnight and everywhere was so quiet and still.

Need to do some general house worky stuff today and finish the ironing - parents are coming tomorrow so need it to look presentable.

Off to check the banks and check the figures.....hope everyone has a great day.

  • Morning everyone,

Jo, glad your home made kfc went down well.

Pooky, sounds as though you had a magical evening.

    Red, hello.

I'm in work and trying not to think too much about stuff. ;)

Your walk home sounds gorgeous Pooky.

I have more un-tiling to do today, finish off the study (must be getting somewhere cos the sound of my typing has an echo!!!) and a garage to continue clearing. People keep being really negative which is !!!!ing me off. Making comments about how tiling is a professional job. Yes it takes time and preparation, but provided it all lines up and is stuck on properly and level it looks fine. It's not like the art that is called plastering!

Also have housing associations to ring and a hair appointment to fit in.

Morning all, I think I'm going to take a step back from debt busting as it's all getting a bit much and I need a summer break! After hours of deliberating OH and I have decided that we're clearing debts at speed and creating so much stress. So we're going to have a holiday and relax a bit more. Does this seem really reckless?!

Don't listen to them, Butti! I think it's brill that you can do that yourself  I would love to learn how to tile (as well as lots of other household / DIY type jobs).

Gemmzie - It's like the tortoise and the hare. I don't think you get any extra points for arriving early, and afterall it's your debt! Look at mine - knocked about £10k off it and now it's come to a virtual standstill BUT it is still going down and will continue once I've finished studying.

afternoon. Popped home for lunch break.

Work has been so dull this morning, I am so pleased to be changing heads. It's so quiet in my morning job with people being on holiday I have had to stretch out some very quick routine tasks into a whole morning and I'm mentally withering.

That makes total sense. It's mostly 0% until next May and low interest LOB so we have breathing space.

    Hi all....
Butti-we've always done our own tiling,as long as you think about it first, plan it out and prepare well there's no reason not to do it yourself! 1st day of the school hols and I was wide awake at 7...so I went to gym but only did 4ks...bit disappointing really..then took cat to vets for boosters (£87!)and a v quick whizz round Tescos..
Tried to sit down for a cuppa as been on the go since 7,then DH rang to say he had forgot to order (and research) a new battery charger for the boat in Spain, and it needs to be delivered by tomorrow-could I just do it? Oh,and while your at it, a mate wants me to quote for flights to Hong Kong..can I just sort all that too??Yeah, and i'll stick a broom up my 'arris and sweep the floor at the same time!!
    Debt-free...and staying that way...
