Posting to Ireland (Eire)

Just a quickie, is there any point getting a proof of delivery if I am posting to Eire - is this covered by Royal Mail?

If it's under £41 your covered by proof of posting. There is no royal mail service that can guarantee tracking once the item has left the UK so if it's under £41 in my book it's not worth the extra money.

Just to say I sell a lot to Southern Ireland (not sure why) but I have never had any problems. A lot of areas though don't have post codes. I think only places like Dublin have so some of the addresses can look incomplete frequently it's just a house name and a village.

I also sell loads to Ireland (Republic of) and never any issues. Yes, COP covers you up to £41 as already stated.

Bah, I didn't realise posting to Ireland would cost me a lot more - almost twice as much as I charged.

Same prices as the rest of Europe.

And also, for future, watch out where you post things large letter in the UK that will need to go small packet Airmail to ROI - that can increase the price considerably.

If oyu have the postag eprices set properly on ebay then Ireland should be picke dup as Europe automatically and charged your European postage. I sell a lot there and a lot to Australia as well and having all my postage set is so easy as they just go through check out and pay the correct amount.

I usually post UK only but she messaged me and asked if I would post to Ireland. I said yes, then she asked for a buy it now price which we agreed, but it didn't even occur to me to check the postage as it was late and I was tired.

Oh well, I sold the bag for more than I paid for it in the first place so I haven't lost anything and she seems nice enough so I'm happy that it has gone to a good home!

But light (up to 100g) bulky things that would go as a packet here are cheaper by airmail to Europe.
