Help, my TV has started turning itself off a few seconds after I put it on. Does anyone know why this is or whether it is cheap to fix. It is a 32" Panasonic CRT so too large to take to a shop. Does anyone have any suggestions or will I have to buy a new one?

Try changing the batteries in the remote control. Also try closing all windows and curtains and surround the room in tinfoil to block out the neighbours remotes.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0

I had the same issue a few years back with my old crt tv, it was some capacitor or something that had fried. i did get it fixed but it cost something like £85 and within six months it was doing it again so i ended up buying a new tv in the end. Unfortunately modern tvs are supposed to be quite difficult to fix, there really isn't much scope for fixing the circuit boards and stuff. If you have a good tv repairman nearby then suss them out and see if they would collect it for you and bring it back.0
