Easiest would be to change your ticket to fly to Manchester instead then take the train from Manchester Airport to Leeds. Alternatively allow several hours between flights and book a separate flight from LHR to Manchester

Otherwise there isn't any easy way to get from Heathrow to Kings Cross for the train to Leeds

Simplest would be to use a car service like simplyairport justairports to take you from Heathrow to Kings Cross. Tube would be the cheapest but with lots of luggage it's probably too difficult. Inbetween would be Heathrow Express to Paddington then taxi to Kings Cross but the savings aren't that great compared to a car service

Train bookings are best done several weeks in advance with collection at the station - but they commit you to a particular train.

See eastcoast.co.uk crosscountry.co.uk both of whom allow foreign bookings

You can get a direct coach from Heathrow to Leeds with National Express. However, it does take 5 hrs 30 mins and if you have more than two medium size pieces of luggage per person this is only taken subject to space and payment.

I think the flights into Leeds from London now go from Gatwick.

I don't know London so do not know if you can get between the 2 airports.

Asking for the "best" way to get between A and B is always a difficult question as it depends on if you mean cheaper, fastest or most comfortable and if you have any schedule restrictions. A private helicoptor transfer might be the "best" but it's not going to be the cheapest (unless you happen to know Prince William and get him to give you a lift!)

National Express will do it direct - but can you cope with 6 hours stuck on a bus?

You may be able to change your ticket to include a shuttle service up to MAN or just book a single - the BA service is quite reasonably prices. From there you could get the train to Leeds.

If you haev a lot of luggage then I wouldn't even try getting across London to Kings Cross.

    Hire a car?

Not sure about one way drop off fees though.

Pack lighter and get the tube :D

As other's have mentioned, the tub isn't brilliant for carrying luggage it will get you to Kings Cross where a train will take around 2:30 to get to Leeds.

There are three trains an hour from Manchester Airport to Leeds (a fourth will go from Manchester Piccadilly - easily accessible from the airport).

As somebody has said, bmi ceased their route from Heathrow to Leeds Bradford. The only flight from London-Leeds is a Flybe service to/from Gatwick.

Not sure if it's any cheaper if you get two coaches, ie Heathrow-Victoria and Victoria-Leeds. I know when we did Heathrow-Leeds a few years ago it was cheaper to get the tube to Victoria then the coach from there, rather than the direct coach from Heathrow-Leeds.

I suppose National Express would be the 'easiest', but i would recommend the tube, then mainline train from Kings Cross. My Mum lives in South Africa and her family in Leeds. She comes over several times a year and always gets on the tube from Heathrow to connect with the train to Leeds.

take a flight from heathrow to manchester (they are plentiful and from 35 quid are quite a bargain), and then get a train from manchester airport to leeds.

    booya!
