Mine is also how many layers fit in the dish!

I generally make one to eat there and then and another to stick in the freezer for another time.

The big dish (the one to freeze) gets:
    Mince
    White sauce
    Mozzarella
    Pasta
    Mince
    White sauce
    mozzarella
    pasta
    mince
    white sauce
    mozzarella
    pasta
    white sauce
    parmesan

And the smaller dish (the one to eat straight away) gets
    Mince
    White sauce
    mozzarella
    pasta
    mince
    white sauce
    mozzarella
    pasta
    white sauce
    parmesan

    Mine goes:

    Mince (quorn really)
    Lasagne sheets
    Mince
    White Sauce
    Lasagne sheets
    White Sauce
    Cheese.

There's only two of us and it lasts 2 days so works out pretty cheap. I make the sauces from scratch and it takes about an hour in total.

No wonder it takes 2 hours!

I use a recipie from jaimies dinner book.

its the mince fried with onions , chillli, pepper and garlic.
    half bottle of red wine
    2tins of chopped tomatoes
    salt , pepper and herbs

can take upto 2hours to simmer down in oven or hour half on hob.

It does take time but soooo tasty.:D

I cook lasagne sheets until al dente

white sauce mins on hib as just craime fraiche then grated parmasan on top.

You made me chuckle yes im lasagne mad.:rotfl:

I think it can be such a faff if done from scratch as I make red sauce and mice takes 2hours, white sauce 15mins and the prep time chopping, cookig lasagne sheets before hand.
I say think big, bigger the better and freezes lovley.

Been eying up huge lasagne dish in asda bigger than mine thinking want to go bigger. trying veg lasagane today for 1st time.

    Hiya,

It can be a faff to do it all at once, so I tend to freeze a portion of bolognese sauce every time I do a Spag bol & once I have enough of this frozen, I'll defrost & make the white sauce.
