HMV online purchase

Hi, i bought for the bairn a Microsoft wireless headset via HMV's website back in February, today and true to Microsofts build quality it won't charge and is basically knackered. Can i take it back to a HMV outlet other than having to send back to there online shop?

I do have the email to confirm the order and the email to say they sent it.

Thanks.

What did HMV say when you asked them this question?
    Gone ... or have I?

Depends on HMV's policy I suppose. They may class it as a separate part of the company and require you to post the item back to wherever HMV online sends its goods from, or as you've said you might be able to take it back to a store with your proof of purchase.

I'd guess that you'd need to send it back to HMV online though.

Check their T&C's. Not all companies allow you to do this and there are sometimes valid reasons for it.

For instance, their online store may be a seperate company from their actual stores - although obviously part of the same parent company.
As dmg says, speak to them and see what they say. If they allow it then you're good to go.

Although if memory serves correctly, HMV online are based in Guernsey.

I have not contacted HMV yet, thought i would ask here first as i knew i would get a faster answer also the problem has just happened. I would like to thank you for the pointless post though, are you always this arrogant on a forum that asks for advise?

Thanks to everyone else for answering, i'll try instore tomorrow.

HMV won't accept an online purchase returned back to one of their shops. I'd follow Deanos advice even though you could return back to HMV in Guernsey who will only probably send it to MS.
