Lloyds TSB - QIF Statement Download to MS Money not working?

Since the upgrade of the Lloyds TSB internet website, I have discovered that downloads QIF statement downloads from my credit card into Microsoft Money have stopped working.
The file is downloaded, but when it is imported into MS money nothing happens. MS Money doesn't give any error messages, but just shows nothing.
I tried setting up a new account and importing the QIF file into that and again nothing happens. What should of happened is all transactions in the file would have been created in the new account.
I can only assume Lloyds have done something and the file is no longer a valid QIF file or something like that?
Has anyone else see this and reported it to Lloyds TSB?

Yes, I reported it along with a few other online issues with the new system 15/07/10 and recieved this reply on the 19th.
1. Credit card statements have never been available in .QIF format, even on the old website. Only current account and savings account statements are available in .QIF format. You can download credit card statements in plain text and .PFM (intended for use with finance manager packages) formats.
They clearly do NOT even know how their own systems work so I have since replied and am now awaiting another response from them.
As far as I'm aware Money deals with differing types of QIF files, they are not all the same. It would appear LLoyds have changed them to appear as investments somehow!
Maybe if more people complain they will actually sort the problem.

Thanks!
I have sent them an email, so will see what I get back.0 -
Have you heard any more? I emailed them on the address above, but didn't get a response from them. :-(0

Hi Guys,
My first post - mainly because I usually find answers to questions here but this in one I've had to solve elsewhere.
I don't know if Lloyds Credit Card .qif downloads are broken or just not designed to go into financial software as Bank Accounts but a fix/workaround is quite easy.
Open the file you have downloaded in Notepad or equivalent. Edit the very first line to say !Type:Bank instead of !Type:CC. You may also want to change each of the transactions to be negative (-) if you want it to work like it used to.
Hope that Helps.

Thanks Ben - your solution works perfectly.
Question is why doesn't it work when the file is setup as "Type:CC" and only "Type:Bank" works?
My account type is setup as "Credit Card" in Microsoft Money.
In which case is this actually a MS Money problem, in which case it won't ever get fixed as MS have given up on Money now which is a real shame.0 -
I reported the same issues to Lloyds on the 4th Aug and got a reply on the 10th stating:
"I would be unable to offer support on MS Money as it is a third party product"
I email them again and said that used to be able to download the qif files from the old site and that something must have been changed and I received a response today stating:
"We have raised this issue with our Web Development team and they are in the process of trying to put through a fix. We understand that previously you have been able to use this facility, however, we have never supported it and that is why we cannot give technical assistance on it."
Maybe they will do something...

In order for me to use Lloyds TSB banking with MS Money is becoming more and more of a pain these days.
I download the QIF file from the Lloyds TSB site for my credit card and save the file.
I then have to edit the file to change the statement from "CC" to "CCard".
I think go through all the transactions and change the polarity of them all. (ie add a "-" to all purchases and remove the "-" on any payments or refunds)
I can then successfully import the file into MS Money and reconcile.
Are there any better ways?0 -
I've exported the Excel file from the LloydsTSB site and then use a QIF converter to convert the file to a format I can use - there are a few Big Red Consulting is one I've used but it's only free for a trial period. Here's another one that is free (requests a donation if you find it useful) but I haven't tried it yet:

Thanks Ben. Found this post after having the same issue with downloading a Halifax Clarity statement into money.0 -
just to let anyone who is still a victim of this issue - i have been in correspondence with ltsb customer service who appear incapable of understanding the problem and refuse to refer it to their it dept - i have contacted the financial ombudsman who advises that they cannot force ltsb to address the problem as they are not obliged to provide the facility to export data - i'm now trying to get the bbc radio 4 money programme interested - might help if other sufferers do the same...........................
i note that other credit card providers of this service use ofx files rather than qif which work ok with debit accounts0
