What is lacking in the house or area, that means your wife wants to move?
Size? Location? Prestige?
Why do you not want to move?Emergency savings: 4600

I have the exact same situation.
I'm not moving unless she finds something that I like more than this house. If she can find this amazing house then I will be happy to move.I am a Mortgage Adviser

By the time you factor in redemption fees (if applicable) of a current mortgage, solicitors fees for selling, estate agency fees for selling, removal company charges, time and effort spent looking for a new place, solicitor fees on buying, arrangement and valuation fees for a new mortgage, survey fees, and stamp duty...
Well I'd say this and that is might just work out cheaper.
All those costs to save the hassle of replacing a 6 year old kitchen?
None of the other jobs are specified so I am assuming its a lick of paint here, a something or other there rather than major expenses such replacing all the windows and doors, rewiring the whole house, a new CH system etc etc
Edit: However, of course if all those changes won't make it into the home she wants then thats another matter.0 -
I've got a great idea.
Why not sell it? Not with one of those old fashioned estate agents. No, what you need is a self-sell website where you can upload your own photos and cut out the middle man.
Any suggestions, spammer?
Keep the post count rising and you might just get away with it and be believed. But the fact remains, dozens of others have gone down the same route and failed. Good luck with being different to all the rest.Been away for a while.0 -
Just sack her off and get a new wife who likes your house, problem solved! You're welcome.0

You don't actually understand what a Catch-22 is do you!"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
