This may sound really silly but I am new to guinea pig keeping I have three about 10 12 week old piggies I was told they are all girls today I was playing and cuddling them with my daughter and we noticed two nipples sticking through the fur by there back legs is this normal? I am worried they could be pregnant and not all girls. Also theymake a load purring noise when you go to one of them any advise wouldbe great thanks

All guinea pigs have nipples.
Maybe this site will help with the sounds they make, you can listen to the sounds and compare with your own http://www.jackiesguineapiggies.com/guineapigsounds.html
If you're worried about the sex of the guinea pigs, google how to sex guinea pigs to find out. If you're still unsure then take them to a vet to be sexed properly, don't take them to a pet shop as folk in pet shops are likely to do it as well as you can do it yourself.Debt: Started at £4780, now at £4190

This is interesting to hear the noises as we are getting a pair of guinea pigs as well. I'll definitely be here asking more questions no doubt over the next few weeks.MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

I have 2 girl piggies and yes they do have nipples near there back legs! Piggies make lots of different noises, when they are happy, when they want food and if you make a noise they don't like. If you need any advice about piggies see this forum - www. the guinea pig forum . co . uk , loads of mad piggie owners and all the help you need.0
