Am I Meant To Move????

Well just got the dreaded phone call to say that our sellers have now just pulled out of another house, after having the survey done.
This has happened 3 times in our chain now and I cannot get hold of his EA to find out what is going on.
I want to say that they either move into rented now they cannot find anywhere to move to or they move to their house in Spain or we just have to pull out as if it has happened 3 times then are we destined not to buy this house???
What do i do as there seems to be nothing on the market that we like at the moment and we still like this house and if we pull out it is over £3k thats down the drain as we obviously owe solicitors and things still.
Help

Oh this is terrible, I really feel for you (although unfortunately I can't advise you). £3k is a lot to throw away and this situation represents everything that is wrong with the English system.
Why do they keep pulling out? How annoying for you0 -
Its impossible to advise you what to do as you have to make the decision yourself and if it turns out to be the wrong one nobody here will want to take the blame.
As an outsider though I will put how I see it and hopefully others will do the same and help you see things more clearly.
You really have to decide how much you want this house. How long is the chain. If it is more than just you and your seller, will everyone else hang on? Can you risk the chain collapsing?
If you have no chain to lose by waiting for this house then you have to decide how long you want to wait. To be honest, my gut feeling is that while you carry on waiting, they will carry on messing you about. It may be that the threat of at least looking at other properties will galvanise them into moving out. They may also be realising that you have spent a lot of money which you won't want to lose so there is no point in making empty threats to pull out or start looking elsewhere, you need to be seen to be doing it. You take the risk there though that they will decide not to sell at all at the present time.
You also have to ask yourselves whether these people really want to move. Fair enough, they don't want to buy somewhere that has a dodgy survey, but unless they are looking at hovels to renovate it may be that they are setting their sights too high and letting niggles in the surveys be blown into obstacles. They have to face the fact that they are not going to buy a pristine perfect house, it will have faults even if it is a new build.
Hope this is some help in thinking things through.0 -
Oh no, not again! Call their ea and get them to persuade the sellers to rent out for a while, they will be on your side as they want to get their commission. Best of luck!0

Feel for you. You need to decide what you motives are for moving, if its just to get this house then you will have to stick with it, if you are motivated to move be it this house or another, get yourself out there, visit all the agents in the area you want to be in & keep in touch with them. September is usually a busy time for new instructions, holidays over, kids back to school & people want to be in their new homes by Christmas.
Best of luck with what ever you decide.0 -
Well I phoned their agent and basically said that even though I liked their house I would have to consider my options.
I asked them to ask the vendors if they would be prepared to move to their Spanish property or prepared to move out to rented while they look and the EA went quiet, like she didn't want to put that question forward.
I said I really didn't know if our buyers would wait any longer or if indeed their FTB would now pull out.
I then had a long chat with my agent, who is a lovely lady and the estate agency is her own business who she runs with one other lady. They have been very helpful and have said that I have asked the right questions and should wait a couple of days for the response.
She's talking to the buyer and in turn the FTB and we just have to wait.
I currently own a 3 bed detached worth around £280k and buying a 4 bed detached which is much bigger in every way with lots more land.
I feel we have to move as i have 3 children ,2 girls sharing a room with bunk beds in and a teenage boy in a room thats only 7ft by 6ft.
It's a 4 bed house we need and after living in a new build for nearly 14 years,we now want to buy an older property with potential,so we are always generally going to encounter a chain.
I look constantly on the websites for other properties but the one we are trying to buy just far outweighs anything else i see,in every way, size, location and just everything really.
The vendors can only afford £250k as they are downsizing and want a 3 bed,but 3 beds in this area tend to be around £265k to £300k mark,so they will struggle to find their dream home at this price.
I will have to wait a couple of days until i get an answer to my questiona dn see what happens next0
