CD-ROM Drive

My PC's CD-ROM Drive (Samsung CDRW/DVD SM-332B) isn't working.

It doesn't autoplay anymore, and isn't accessible via 'My Computer'.

I've checked the Device Manager and get the following error message:
"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling without success, and there are no updates on the Microsoft update page.

I had something similar to this happen to me earlier this year. I can't remember if it was with XP or Windows 7, but instructions similar to the following link solved the problem for me:

If you aren't comfortable using the Registry Editor then you could try this ( it's possibly XP only ):
