Car Warranty for Vauxhall Astra

My Vauxhall Astra 1.9 Diesel 08 plate with 22,000 on the clock has blown a cylinder head gasket. Still under warranty but I am expecting to be told not covered. I am the second owner, but car has been regularly serviced and is well maintained. Any advice on how to deal with Vauxhall as I am expecting a battle. Also anyone know why this should happen?:(

why are you expecting to be told not covered??
does car have documented service history done by a garage using vauxhall parts and following the correct schedule?
i cannot see why they would reject a claim unless any of the above is an issue.
as for the gasket failure then it could be a simple manufacture fault with gasket or the car has overheated for some reason for example pump U/S.difficult to say without seeing the car.0 -
^^
Cooling system failure would be my first guess.
The other big factor which gets overlooked is engine oil, if the oil is not changed regularly at service intervals it can become thick and lumpy, block up the oil channels into the head and cause severe overheating.
Either way at such low mileage the failure had to have a cause, that has to be something covered on warranty and if that cause is not addressed it will happen again and again.
If the garage try to bullsh1t you, then your best line of attack is to aim at the cause of the failure and not the failure itself.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
