I tried years ago, same sort of results as you, more of a novelty IMO, never bothered again

Try steaming them, and serving with butter.
I quite liked them but i think they're a bit of a novelty too, and have only grown them for the pods once. They do make quite attractive bedding to fill the holes in my cottage garden.Lil

Are these the ones that grow in green long star shaped typed pods? I've got some in my garden (planted a load of random seeds this year, most donated from friends) which are coming along nicely.
