Anyone ever tried these?

Mine are now 1-2" long and apparently ready to harvest.

I tried a raw one and it doesn't taste very nice at all, slightly bitter and not much flavour at all.

Do they improve in flavour when cooked, I plan on cooking some tomorrow.

I tried years ago, same sort of results as you, more of a novelty IMO, never bothered again

OK cooked, but in all honesty far better to sow mangetout or some sort of snap pea

Try steaming them, and serving with butter.

I quite liked them but i think they're a bit of a novelty too, and have only grown them for the pods once. They do make quite attractive bedding to fill the holes in my cottage garden.

Are these the ones that grow in green long star shaped typed pods? I've got some in my garden (planted a load of random seeds this year, most donated from friends) which are coming along nicely. Not sure what to do with them though?

Sounds like the same thing kiwichick.

Nice red flowers on them, I'll just have to see what a bit of butter can do :D
